By accessing or using 11+ Vocab Quest ("the Service", "we", "us", or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including without limitation users who are browsers, students, parents, guardians, or contributors of content.

2. Description of Service

11+ Vocab Quest is an educational platform designed to help students prepare for 11+ grammar school entrance exams through interactive vocabulary learning. The Service includes:

• Quest-based vocabulary learning system
• Interactive practice sessions and quizzes
• Spaced repetition algorithms for optimal learning
• Progress tracking and analytics
• AI Buddy learning companion
• Free and Premium subscription plans

3. User Accounts and Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirements

The Service is intended for students preparing for 11+ exams. Users under the age of 13 must have parental or guardian consent to create an account and use the Service. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that:

• You are at least 13 years old, or you have obtained parental/guardian consent if under 13
• You have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• All information provided during registration is accurate and current

3.2 Account Registration

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Ensuring that your account information is kept up to date

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties, or for any other reason.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

4.1 Free Plan

We offer a free plan that provides limited access to the Service, including:

• Access to up to 600 core vocabulary words (Set 1)
• Basic progress tracking
• Limited challenges per day
• Limited AI credits and features

We reserve the right to modify the features available in the free plan at any time.

4.2 Premium Plan

Premium plans provide unlimited access to all features, including:

• Access to all 1,800 vocabulary words
• Unlimited challenges per day
• Unlimited AI credits and features
• Unlimited bookmarks, notes, and tricky words

Premium plans are available as monthly, yearly, or lifetime subscriptions. Pricing is displayed in British Pounds (£) and may be subject to change. We will notify you of any price changes at least 30 days in advance.

5. Payment Terms

5.1 Payment Processing

Payments for Premium subscriptions are processed through Stripe, a third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms and conditions. We do not store your full payment card details on our servers.

5.2 Subscription Renewal

Monthly and yearly subscriptions will automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You will be charged the then-current subscription fee. Lifetime subscriptions are one-time payments and do not renew.

5.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period. You will continue to have access to Premium features until the end of the paid period.

5.4 Refunds

We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee for new Premium subscriptions. If you are not satisfied with the Service within 14 days of your initial purchase, you may request a full refund by contacting us. Refunds will be processed within 10 business days. Lifetime subscriptions are non-refundable after 14 days from purchase.

Refunds are not available for:

• Subscriptions cancelled after the 14-day refund period
• Partial periods of subscription
• Lifetime subscriptions after 14 days from purchase

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or related systems
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices
• Use the Service to transmit any harmful code, viruses, or malware

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Content

All content on the Service, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, software, and the compilation thereof, is the property of 11+ Vocab Quest or its content suppliers and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial educational purposes in accordance with these Terms.

7.3 User Content

You retain ownership of any content you create or submit through the Service (such as notes, bookmarks, or feedback). By submitting content, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use, modify, and display such content for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

8. Privacy and Data Protection

Your privacy is important to us. Our collection and use of personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in our Privacy Policy.

We comply with applicable data protection laws, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018. For users under 13, we require parental consent before collecting personal information.

9. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide continuous access to the Service, but we do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times. The Service may be unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance
• Technical issues or failures
• Circumstances beyond our reasonable control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied
• We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your requirements or that it will be error-free, secure, or uninterrupted
• We are not responsible for any loss of data, profits, or other damages arising from your use of the Service
• We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from technical errors, system failures, data breaches, or unauthorized access to your information, except where such loss or damage results from our gross negligence or willful misconduct
• Our total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law.

11. Educational Disclaimer

While 11+ Vocab Quest is designed to help students prepare for 11+ grammar school entrance exams, we do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in:

• Passing any specific exam or test
• Admission to any particular school
• Any specific educational outcome

The Service is a supplementary educational tool and should be used in conjunction with other study materials and preparation methods.

12. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings. We may terminate or suspend your account immediately, without prior notice, if you breach these Terms.

Upon termination:

• Your right to use the Service will immediately cease
• You will lose access to your account and all associated data
• Any outstanding subscription fees remain due and payable
• We may delete your account and data in accordance with our Privacy Policy

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any material changes by:

• Posting the updated Terms on this page
• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Sending an email notification to registered users (for significant changes)

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you must stop using the Service and may cancel your subscription.

14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

16. Severability
